Hotly-tipped newcomers Clean Cut Kid have been confirmed to support Circa Waves and Shura on tour this autumn, following breakout single 'Vitamin C'. The Liverpudlian four-piece will tour the UK with Circa Waves throughout October ahead of a winter stint with Shura.
Clean Cut Kid are Mike Halls, Evelyn Halls, Saul Godman and Ross Higginson. “Soulful pop ballads, washed in Mersey water” is how Mike describes the band’s sound. The quartet possess an old-school gang spirit, their deep bond formed by around-the-clock rehearsals at their practice space in Liverpool. The group would spend day and night hunkered down there – Saul lived in it for a period, and Mike and Evelyn were on the same road. Keeping up with Mike’s prolific output, they have emerged with a wonderfully distinguished sound, where pop and experimentalism combine in glorious harmony.
Debut single Vitamin C’ is a three-minute slice of jubilant art-pop, armed with a triumphant chorus and a gliding, undeniable groove. It has already been added to the In New Music We Trust list at Radio 1 (championed by Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart and Clara Amfo) and garnered praise online, with comparisons being drawn to Vampire Weekend and Fleetwood Mac amongst others. With festivals across the likes of Latitude, Secret Garden Party and Somersault Festival, Clean Cut Kid have also confirmed the following live dates:
