Ewan McLennan – 2016 UK Tour
Ewan McLennan has come to be known as a guitarist at the very forefront of his generation, a troubadour that can move audiences with his passion and pathos, and a songwriter for whom social justice is still a burning issue.
His current touring builds on and draws from his three critically acclaimed albums, his BBC Radio 2 Horizon Award and his performances and collaborations on the Transatlantic Sessions.
This Autumn Ewan McLennan will be touring throughout the UK, performing songs from all three of his studio albums. As well as performing the favourites from his previous recordings and collaborations he will be airing new material, both self-penned and traditional arrangements.
He will also perform a song or two from his most recent project, a much-anticipated collaboration with the renowned journalist and author George Monbiot.
Having learnt from and worked with both Martin Simpson and Dick Gaughan over recent years, it’s evident in Ewan’s guitar playing and in his music more generally that he has absorbed and inherited a great deal at first hand, from the older generation of ‘folk greats’ before carving his own path.
In his short years as a touring musician Ewan McLennan has become renowned for his intimate and captivating live performances. Delivered with a subtle pathos and a rare skill on the guitar this troubadour will spin timeless songs, both new and old.
