Saturday October 3rd sees the return to West Park Leisure centre of �Later Without � 2�
Following a successful pilot earlier this year, the gig will follow the same format as the popular Jools Holland programme, which features multiple artists with their own sets; minimizing the time between songs. The gig features a number of young �up and coming� bands alongside some more experienced outfits. The aim is to have a wide variety of musical styles to suit most tastes; so appealing to the tastes of a wider audience.
Confirmed bands so far include the popular local �Buzzband�, performing a variety of pop hits from across the decades; we have �Pink Sharabang� from Sheffield, who will be providing their own blend of �flower power� Indy songs. We also have the return of the Alpha Killers (known as AK) fresh from Ripley Festival, returning to play classic rock ballads and boogie woogie too! New for this gig will be an acoustic stage, where a number of additional solo artists will also be shortly confirmed.
The gig is being run as a charity fund raiser by South East Derbyshire Music Centre, who will use any funds made to provide musical instrument tuition for the youngsters of Erewash and Amber Valley.
The event will be held at West Park Leisure Centre on October 3rd 2009. Entry costs �5 and tickets will be available at the Leisure Centre or from South East Derbyshire Music Centre. Doors open at 7.00pm. A licensed bar will be available throughout the evening; please bring ID if you look too young to be served at the bar!
