Some Details...
The Little Unsaid was stewed up in the badlands of West Yorkshire by multi-instrumentalist, producer and writer John Elliott. The music combines string and brass orchestration with beats, electronics, found sounds and John's haunting, androgynous vocals.
The new album Fisher King is due for release in summer 2015. The album is being mixed by Graeme Stewart, Oxford-based producer who has produced Jonny Greenwood’s music for such blockbuster movies as There Will Be Blood, The Master and this year’s Inherent Vice, lending the album its distinct cinematic sound. The album features regular collaborators the Southfields String Quartet as well as violin by Giles Lewin, founding member of Bellowhead and regular Maddy Prior collaborator. As with all previous releases, John plays drums, guitars, piano, electronics, toolbox and sings on the album, and arranges all of the parts for other musicians. Inspiration behind the songs on the album comes from a range of literary works including Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, Dante’s Inferno, The Death of Bunny Munro by Nick Cave and The Waste Land by T.S. Eliot. The album was crowd-funded by offering fans pre-orders and pledge exclusives such as house concerts, original artwork, handmade acoustic albums, and lyrics booklets.
The Little Unsaid has received frequent national radio play on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 2, with ongoing support from DJs such as Tom Robinson and Bob Harris. A 20-date full band UK tour begins in March 2015, followed by a return to major festivals including Glastonbury in the summer.
