Nottingham Comedy Festival is back in three weeks
In just 3 weeks’ time the Nottingham Comedy Festival will be back. Taking place between
Friday 4
th to Saturday 12th November this is the 14
th annual Comedy Festival in the city and
we are proud to bring together brand new, local, international and top established acts.
9 days of comedy across 14 venues. Over 80 comedians are bringing their shows to give us
all some light hearted fun. This year we have stand-up, improvisation, sketch shows, poetry,
musical comedy, roast battles, podcasts, chat shows and kid shows. There is something for
everyone.
We pride ourselves on supporting local, national and international comedians through all
stages of their careers and are pleased to welcome back many returning acts to the festival.
Nottingham’s comedy scene has been growing dramatically over the past few years and the
festival is very proud to be showcasing many great examples. Local improv groups: Rhymes
Against Humanity and MissImp. Stand-ups: Jon Pearson, Scott Bennett, Friz Frizzle, Edi
Johnston, Katie Mitchell, Jay Sandhu, Benny Shakes, Tommy Tomski, John Morris and many
more. Nottingham truly is becoming a city of comedy.
Look out for a few specialist shows taking part this year for the first time. Including:
The Immaculate Collection – a show featuring an evening of clean comedy.
The Comedy Roast Battle – comedians battling against each other
Schools Out Comedy Club – a comedy show suitable for children.
A Political Brunch – a political chat show live on stage with comedians
But that’s not all, top names such as Mark Thomas, Scott Bennett, Harriet Kemsley, Juliette
Burton and Britain’s Got Talent star Nabil Abdulrashid are all taking to the stage this
November. With over 80 shows, there is a lot taking place. Go and see your favourites and
try something new, you never know what gems are out there but most importantly, come
and have a laugh.
Once again the festival is supported by Castle Rock Brewery who have been supporting us
since the beginning in 2009.
