A NIGHT OF LAUGHTER IN NOTTINGHAM

STEVE Day will headline the Magners Funhouse Comedy night at Bunkers Hill, Nottingham, on Saturday April 24.
One of the circuit’s truly unique acts, Steve’s warm and witty look at life as a deaf man in a hearing world is an education in humour.
It is his uplifting tales of how he has overcome everyday obstacles that leave the audience in hysterics.
His experience in radio and TV work for Channel 4 and Sky, to name a few, has also propelled him to be one of the most sought after acts out there.
Also on stage is Simon Bligh. After being told he would "go to hell" by his headmaster, urged by his mother to be a priest and dreaming of becoming a plumber, Simon turned to Buddhism, Kung Fu and leather trousers.

Luckily for stand-up fans, his other love was comedy. And it was after seeing films by the late, great Richard Pryor in an empty Manchester cinema that he realised where his heart was.

Ten years on, Simon is one of the funniest performers in the UK, thanks to his delightful stage presence and unadulterated style of comedy.

A weaver of captivating stories, Lou Chawner is also set to take the stage.

He is fast becoming a regular on the comedy scene thanks to original material delivered in a laid-back style.

Compere Spiky Mike will be the ringleader of the night.

“This is a great line-up that is guaranteed to be a hit with stand-up fans,” he said.
