PICORE (Zaragoza, Spain)
Formed in 2003 and with close ties to Zaragoza’s squat venue scene via their Arrabato venue/collective, PICORE are doing their bit to keep the spirit of hardcore and the D.I.Y movement alive whilst stretching the parameters and potential of the music. These guys don’t play no straight forward hardcore that’s for sure. Considered, focused heaviness set on repeato makes for an almost trance-like experience yet this music is also technically precise and brutal. Not too dissimilar to US MAPLE, JESUS LIZARD, THE EX and KING CRIMSON.
