BEX LIVE BLACK ENTREPRENEURIAL SHOWCASE RETURNS TO NOTTINGHAM, JUNE 13TH.
“The Black Pound is worth £40 billion” ­ Bill Brown, Founder BEXLIVE CIC
Black Exposure Live, or BEX, is the UK­wide Black business exposition taking place in Nottingham’s Albert
Hall, Saturday 13th June. The event is an invitation to all Black entrepreneurs, businesses, artists and
professionals to bring their talents to the marketplace and make the Black Pound a force to be reckoned
with.
Industries across every sector are represented at BEX, with a creative barbering competition, health food,
natural beauty products, Caribbean property specialists and media companies just some of the exhibitors at
the events. Entertainment includes Real McCoy comedian Judith Jacobs hosting, and Lover’s Rock acts
Don Campbell and Sandra Cross performing. Shoppers and networkers can come for just £5, with children
16 and under at half that.
Interested exhibitors can display their products or services from as little as £99 and enjoy the networking
opportunities past attendees have commented on:
‘It has been very well attended, I’m impressed to see so many Black people at a business related event. It is
encouraging to show Black supports Black businesses’ ­ Roydon Allen of Friends and Bredrins prostate
cancer support.
There are even workshops delivered on a range of themes, promoting health and wellbeing as well as
insider commentary on building a strong business model.
Founder Bill Brown is incredibly proud of the achievements the growing BEX family can claim, saying “BEX
is about strengthening peoples businesses and our relationship with the communities we serve”.
It is vital that positive images of the Black diaspora are shown as candidly as the stereotypes many are sick
of seeing perpetuated unfairly across many mediums. This year BEX is bigger and stronger than ever, and
so returning to Nottingham we would like to see the whole community, regardless of colour, come out to
support something so pivotal ­ something that benefits all.
