Yazoo at Theatre Royal & Royal Concert HallDate: Wed 11th Jun Time: 19:30 As founder member and main songwriter for Depeche Mode, Vince Clarke had already made his mark with such classic pop songs as ‘New Life’ and ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ when he left the band in 1981. Shortly after this Yazoo were formed when Clarke replied to an advertisement placed by Alison Moyet looking for “rootsy blues musicians”. Moyet’s gorgeous soulful lament layered over Clarke’s trademark synth melodies produced a series of memorable singles including, Only You, Don’t Go, The Other Side of Love and Nobody’s Diary. After splitting up in 1983, Vince and Alison have since gone on to have their own successful careers, Vince with Erasure and Alison as a solo performer, both releasing critically acclaimed hit albums in 2007. In 2008 Yazoo announced they will reunite for the first time in over 25 years for Reconnected, a UK tour in June.
