Nottingham symphony Orchestra are delighted to welcome guest conductor Joe Davies with a wonderful evening of European Classics. NSO will be presenting works by some of the 20th century's leading composers in a concert that also features a return to the Albert Hall for highly acclaimed Nottingham-born piano soloist Clare Hammond.

Clare's first appearance with NSO since 2019 is not to be missed and will see her take the starring role in Willian Walton's electrifying Sinfonia Concertante for piano and orchestra, one of the key works that made Walton the hottest young composer in Britain during the inter-way years.

The concert also features Carl Nielsens's Helios Overture - depicting the rising and falling of the sun from dawn to dusk - and two works by the Finnish great Jean Sibelius, his rousing tone poem Finlandia and the much-loved Second Symphony which will bring the evening to a glorious conclusion.
